Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
To assist the Country Director in managing and coordinating the implementation of the Mission projects, the Technical Coordinator will also focus on management of the mission technical departments.
Â· Organizational participation and representation in national level technical working groups, meetings, and other fora
Â· Provision of Technical Support for the missions technical teams, providing guidance, quality, and control on technical methodologies and processes
Â· Development, in coordination with CD, of the mission strategy, and follow-up of the mission strategic indicators against ongoing programming
Â· Development of new proposals in line with country strategy, with a strong technical focus in key programmatic areas
Â· Reporting, oversight on programming outputs, support to Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning objectives
Â· Build and maintain strong linkages with national, international, and academic stakeholders to improve programming and outcomes
Â· Bachelors or Masterâ€™s degree in one of the following; Food Security & Livelihoods, Agriculture, Nutrition, or Humanitarian Management
Â· Sector specific trainings are an advantage: LINK NCA, SSN, Agro-Ecology, etc
Â· Demonstrable knowledge of building lasting partnerships with other agencies and government authorities is an asset
Â· Knowledge of donor requirements, both reporting and proposals is required (USAID, DFID, GIZ, EU, and others)
Â· At least 2 years previous demonstrable field experience in a relief NGO with integrated project management (multi-Sectors) is required. Action Against Hunger experience is an advantage
Â· Knowledge of at least one of the following Action Against Hunger sectors of work: FSL, Nutrition, Health
Â· Prior experience working in an NGO is mandatory
Â· Languages: English full professional competence is compulsory,
Â· Gender approach acknowledgement would be an asset.
Â· Strong computer skills: facility with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email/internet software
We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:
Â· Formal work contract: 1 year
Â· Base: Lilongwe.
Â· Salary: from 1.850â‚¬ to 2.400â‚¬ gross per month according to candidateâ€™s previous experience (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger – Spain). Action Against Hunger – Spain remuneration system allows a salary progression based on the annual development appraisal.

Â· Up to 20% additional remuneration depending on the positionâ€™s context and responsibilities (according the grading scale set by Action Against Hunger)
Â· House and maintenance covered by the organization (including per diem): package estimated according to the destination.
Â· Travel costs to and from the mission.
Â· 25 working days of paid leave per year.
Â· Break: additional rest period, including travel cost to a reference area and economic help of 215â‚¬.
Â· Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization.
Â· Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old): from 100â‚¬ to 225â‚¬ monthly (according to standard list of Action against Hunger – Spain).
