Role overview

VSO Malawi is planning to implement an education project aimed at encouraging girls to stay in school, child friendly schools, teacher capacity development and digital education technology. The post holder will be expected to lead in the coordination and implementation of project activities for the partner organisations and VSO. S/he will document project findings and share with key stakeholders to inform future interventions. The post holder will lead in project monitoring and evaluation, establishing the short term effects and impacts of the project.

 

Skills, qualifications and experience required

• Educated to Bachelor’s degree level in relevant field;
• Very good communication skills both written and verbal. Including ability to communicate sensitively and assertively with a wide range of stakeholders;
• Excellent computer skills
• Experience in working in a demanding administrative role in a similar environment;
• Fully developed record management skills of both electronic and hard copies including Internet-based or web-based database;
• Experience in funds disbursement; processes, reporting and liquidation;
• Experience in ensuring partner financial compliance with procurement procedures and maintenance of update and accurate project financial records;
• Experience in providing efficient and effective logistical support to ensure travel arrangements and meetings/workshops;
• Valid drivers’ license.Desirable
• Previous experience working in a similar function especially in an NGO environment
