Data Entry Clerks (20 Positions various districts)

One Community is a 5-year USAID-funded project focused on building HIV-competent communities, families, and individuals. One Community will empower priority populations with the knowledge, efficacy, and skills to effectively utilize HIV and social services, while at the same time strengthening community HIVsupport and prevention responses.  This multi-level approach will create positive aspirations and future opportunities for those most affected by HIV. The overall outcome will be reduced incidence of new infections and improved clinical, social and economic outcomes among orphans and vulnerable children, adolescents living with HIV, people living with HIV, and other vulnerable populations in communities served by priority treatment sites in the eight project districts.

One Community will be implemented by the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) with partners Plan International and Project HOPE.

Data Entry Clerks (20):

Report to: District Team Leader and District Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Locations: Blantyre (2), Chikwawa (2), Machinga (3), Mangochi (4), Mulanje (3), Phalombe (3), Zomba (3)

Data entry clerks will support the monitoring and evaluation activities of the program through the accurate and timely entry of program monitoring data into CSPro data entry screens.  These data will populate OC beneficiary databases that capture household case management records, small group session activities, and HIV testing services (among other activities).

Specific Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performance of accurate data entry into all OC databases using CSProdata entry screens, capturing information on OC beneficiaries, those participating in small group sessions, and those receiving HIV testing services
  • Analysis of potential data entry errors (comparing to paper form after entry), validates, and updates database to reflect the paper forms
  • Work with the M&E officer to improve data quality
  • Designation of which forms have been entered and organizes forms/ records in a meaningful system (by activity, location, and date if small group discussions; within household folders if beneficiary records)
  • Communication about progress and numbers to OC officers
  • Assist with other data-related tasks as requested by district officers

  • Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft office and CSPro
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Dedication to work and ability to meet tight deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma required, additional education (particularly in M&E, IT or information systems preferred)
  • Must have 2-3 years of data entry experience using CSPro
