Role overview
The volunteer role is to ensure that learning centres are constructed to required specifications that provide children with an environment conducive to learning whilst being environmentally sensitive, energy efficient and secure.


Skills, qualifications and experience required
• A minimum of BSc in Civil Engineering or related fields and practical construction experience.
• Self-starter – able to identify relevant contacts and quickly determine own work plan
• Planning and ability to monitor the plan
• Negotiation skills
• Able to communicate the right information to the right people at the right time
• Record keeping skills
• Ability to prioritize
• Decision making
• Able to work to a schedule (programme)
• Able to react to events and adjust accordingly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Ability and willingness to undertake occasional travel within Malawi;
• A valid drivers’ license
• Experience of managing and working under a contract
• Ability to control and process large amounts of data from different sources
• Contract management experience
• Experience of organizational development or working in a capacity building role in a growing small organization
